WebJun 14, 2011 · Tonebone, I remember the Jeff Ethell P-38 crash well. He was working a TV series doing "checkouts" of various fighters. Knew his stuff pretty well. P-38 is a very unforgiving plane if you screw up the landing, or can't control it at touch-down. Heavy, and fast at stall.
